In 2010 after my first brain surgery, I was diagnosed with a clival chordoma, a rare bone cancer within the skull. To say that my life changed in an instant is an understatement. Twelve years later after ten surgeries, radiation and thanks to an amazing team of doctors in Seattle, Boston and New York City -- I am Grateful, Happy and Hopeful!
Chordomas are an extremely rare bone cancer that occur in one in a million people. They are found within the skull, on the neck or anywhere in the spinal cord. Team Beth is figthing to advance research, treatments and an eventual cure for Chordomas!!
From day one in this battle my "team" was right there with me - I had the support of family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues all cheering me on. Without my team I wouldn't be where I am today -- every laugh, tear, card, prayer and email touched my heart and strengthened me to get through each day.
In honor of everyone that supported me -- Team Beth was born --- Fighting the Fight to Cure Chordomas -- Don't Stop Believing!!
